I.          New Business

01  Discussion of Scoreboards for the West Warwick Civic Center

 

M. Bourget had asked for this to be placed on the agenda.  He was told that NEVCO was a sole source provider.  He has found that several other companies offer the same services.  He questions if this should have been put out to bid. 

 

L. Swanson explains the process in which she used.  Discussion ensued.  L. Swanson will check the MPA list and with the other vendor for pricing and report back to Council.

 

02  Consideration of Human Rights Day Proclamation

 

The Council would like more information on this.  No action was taken. 

 

03  Request from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for $100 Sponsorship

 

MOTION made by J. Messier, seconded by J. Licciardi for approval of request from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for $100 Sponsorship.                                  All Ayes

01  Sewer Use Board of Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as an alternate member for three-year term

02  Sewer Use Board of Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as a regular member for three-year term

03  Board of Assessment and Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as a regular member for three-year term

04  Board of Assessment and Review – Appointment or Re-appointment to fill vacancy for three-year term

05  West Warwick Housing Authority – Appointment or Re-appointment for five-year term expiring November 2027

06  Board of Canvassers – Appointment to fill vacancy for Democratic Alternate for 6-year term

 

K.         Public Forum

 

M. Bourget suggests allocating some ARPA funds for the dog pound.

 

J. Licciardi asks for M. Knott for an update on the ARPA funds at a future meeting.

 

J. Messier reminds the body of the St. Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday the 12^th.  Roads will close at 12:15 P.M.

 

A. Palazzo, of 5 Robin Lane, shares concerns about the J. DiMartino case and legal fees on litigation and settlements. 

 

D. Read, of 62 Andrews Avenue, shares concerns with the bid process. 

 

L.         Executive Session – Council may vote to move to Executive Session pursuant to R.I. General Law 42-46-5 (a)(2)– Litigation

01  Richard Gough v. Town of West Warwick   KC-2014-0640

 

The Council did not convene in executive session.
