H.        DISCUSSION/ACTION/VOTE ON DARREN BURLEY PENSION CALCULATION REGARDING WHEN MR. BURLEY CAN COLLECT HIS PENSION A DEFERRED AT AGE 62 OR AN EARLY AT AGE 50 WITH REDUCED BENEFIT

Attorney Schmitz explained in detail

 

Motion made by Ms. Lombardi and seconded by Mr. Solmonese that Mr. Burley is not eligible under  article 4.07 an he will be able to collect his deferred pension under article 9.02 of the pension plan.  Mr. Satchell voted Nay rest of board were in favor  motion carries

 

 

I.          DISCUSSION/ACTION/VOTE ON CAROL MESSIER’S MONTHLY PENSION AMOUNT

Motion made to have legal counsel revise memorandum of understanding and to add to next month’s agenda by Mr. Satchell and seconded by Ms. Lombardi.  All in favor

 

J.         DISCUSSION/ACTION/VOTE ON COLA FOR FIRE CHIEF JOSEPH BARIS

 

Motion made by Ms. Lombardi and seconded by Mr. Satchell to allow Chief Baris to collect cola same as what the firefighter received at the time he accepted his position as described in the memorandum of understanding between the local 1104 and the Town.  All in favor

 

K.        DISCUSSION/ACTION ON RECEIVING PENSION APPLICATION TO PROCESS

Motion made to receive and set appointments for IME’s by Mr. Satchell and seconded by Ms. Lombardi.  All in favor

O.        DISCUSSION/ACTION/VOTE ON ACCEPTANCE OF ORDINANCE 2021-9 (AN ORDINANCE TO APPOINT MARK A. KNOTT AS TOWN MANAGER AND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE TOWN OF WEST WARWICK, RI) AND NYHART’S ACTUARIAL ANALYSIS REGARDING PREPAYMENT OF PENSION CONTRIBUTIONS FOR TOWN MANAGER/DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY

 

Chair explained that this was put on to have record on what the Town voted on

 

P.         DISCUSSION/ACTION/VOTE ON CORRECTION TO MAY 12, 2021 AGENDA FOR LEGAL COUNSEL (OLENN & PENZA) JANUARY BILLS YEAR TO 2021 NOT 2020

 

Motion made to have clerk amend minutes to reflect 2021 for the January legal bills by Mr. Satchell and seconded by Mr. Solmonese.  All in favor
