A moment of silence was observed by the body in honor of the passing of Raymond Lambert, Chairman of the Board of Canvassers.

01 Approval of Minutes from the November 15, 2022 Regular Town Council Meeting
02 Cancellation of Taxes in the amount of $1,139.94 as requested by the Tax Assessor
MOTION made by M. Williamson, second by J. Messier for approval of the Consent Agenda. All Ayes
MOTION made by M. Williamson, second by J. Messier to move the ordinance Amending Sections 2, 3, and 5 of the West Warwick Zoning Code of Ordinances; continued from November 1, 2022.
Al Difiore explains the ordinance to the body. This would only allow homeowners to build in-law apartments or accessory dwelling units for family members.
Tom Oates, 6 Colonial Way, shares his concern that if the family member passes away, how to prevent it from becoming a rental property.

M. Knott explains that the current lease with Child Inc. expires on April 30, 2023.
Discussion ensues relative to selling the property versus leasing the property.
It is determined that the Town Manager, Town Solicitor, and one member of Council will meet with a representative from Child Inc to discuss offers. The Council would also like to determine the market value for sale and lease options. They ask for the matter to be placed on the next agenda.

01 Sewer Use Board of Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as an alternate member for three-year term
02 Sewer Use Board of Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as a regular member for three-year term
03 Board of Assessment and Review – Appointment to fill a vacancy as a regular member for term ending March 2024
04 Board of Canvassers – Appointment to fill vacancy as a regular member for a six-year term. Applicants must be a registered Democrat to apply.
05 West Warwick Housing Authority – Appointment or Re-appointment for five-year term expiring November 2027

T. Oates, of 6 Colonial Way, feels that Child Inc. wants the property for free. They spoke of adding an addition back in March of 2022. He suggests leasing the property.
M. Bourget informs the body that Burton Mollohan, Town Sergeant, turned 92 yesterday.
B. Mollohan speaks about his time on the Board of Canvassers with Raymond Lambert. He feels that he was the best Board of Canvasser’s Chair.
J. Messier thanks the volunteers from the Artic Tree Lighting.
D. Gosselin thanks David Perry for his work on the caboose.
