2.     POSSIBLE EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

Motion by Mr. McCuin, Seconded by Mr. Aiello, to go into executive session for discussion and/or action regarding those items of business exempt from open meetings under Rhode Island General Laws §42-46-4 and§42-46-5(a)(5) Land Disposition – Tower Street School, §42-46-5(a)(5) Land Disposition – 12 Ledward Avenue (AP 67, Lot 262), and §42-46-5(a)(2) Litigation – OM 20-18 – Angelo v. Westerly Town Council.  (Voted Unanimously by poll vote)

     The purpose of this Executive Session was to discuss Land Disposition and Litigation.

6:05 P.M.  Voted Unanimously to adjourn and seal the minutes of this Executive Session.

Executive Session Report

 

     Council President Duhamel announced that, under Land Disposition, the Council voted unanimously to hire Northeast Property Group, Inc. to market the Tower Street School property, and that the Council accepted the highest bid of $60,000 for 12 Ledward Avenue, which is $10,000 over the appraised value; and, under Litigation - Angelo v Westerly Town Council, the Council was apprised the decision of the Attorney General that no violation of the Open Meetings Act occurred and the Council voted unanimously to release the portion of the Executive Minutes of September 23, 2019 pertaining to this item, along with the legal memorandum of the Town Solicitor.

 

Motion by Mr. Cooke, Seconded by Mr. McCuin, that the Executive Session minutes be sealed.  (Voted Unanimously)
