a. Resolution Of The Westerly Town Council Declaring Its Intent On Behalf Of The Town Of Westerly To Request Ownership Of The Watch Hill Lighthouse Federal Land To Thereby Protect Public Access To The Shore In Perpetuity – Discussion and Possible Action

Council President Morrone read into the record the names of the following individuals who submitted correspondence in favor of the aforesaid resolution: Daniel Roy; Randy Saunders; Christine A. Getter; Captain Jason Jarvis, Jean L. Gagnier; Rick Maguire, Judy Lawrence, Joseph MacAndrew, Ben Weber; Fay Weber, Ellen Kane and Anthony Palazzolo and the name of the following individual who submitted correspondence in opposition to the aforesaid resolution: William T. Vogt, Jr.
Motion by Mr. Aiello, Seconded by Mr. LaPietra, that the aforesaid resolution be adopted.
Motion by Aiello, Seconded by Ms. Cordio, that the main motion be amended to edit the resolution by changing any reference to property acres from 3.92 acres to 4.5 acres (+/-) and that language be inserted to include distribution of the resolution to the RI Attorney General and RI Historic Preservation Officer. (Voted Unanimously)
A poll vote was taken as follows on the main motion, as amended, and the motion carried: (So Voted 5 to 1 – Council President Morrone dissented; Councilor Lowther absent)
