Discussion was held regarding the operation of the business. It was explained that the vehicle holds fifteen people who each pedal the trolley-like bike that will travel through Misquamicut at two-hour intervals during which time beer and wine will be consumed. It was noted that the vehicle will be motorized with a 3500 watt electric motor and will have a TIPS certified driver.
The Board expressed concern with BYOB consumption of alcohol and with the route of travel of the bike with Misquamicut being congested area.
Chief Lacey expressed concern regarding whether the bike was registerable and the consumption of alcohol on the device, noting that it is not allowed under state law.
Discussion was held regarding the possibility of issuing a probationary license.
Town Solicitor Coney explained the provisions of a probationary license. The applicants responded to questions from the Board.
Motion by Mr. Nigrelli, Seconded by Ms. Belanger, that the aforesaid license be granted subject to the prior approval of proper authorities and with the condition that no alcohol be consumed while on the bike. (Voted Unanimously)
