Motion by Ms. Thoman-Miller, Seconded by Ms. Vorenkamp, that the aforesaid minutes be accepted and approved as printed.  (Voted Unanimously)

        Class B Victualer Limited Liquor License – NEW

        WOW Sushi Inc.

               dba: WOW Sushi                                                                114 Granite St

 

Present:     Steven Surdut, Esq., 85 Beach St., representing the applicant

 

     Attorney Surdut stated that WOW Sushi has been operating in Town for several years and would like the opportunity to serve beer and wine to its patrons.  He stated that the restaurant has five (5) tables with a capacity of approximately 20 patrons.  He explained that the business is primarily take-out service, but the owners would like to increase in-house service.  He reported that the applicant sought and was granted an exemption by the Town Council from the provisions of RIGL §3-7-19 regarding proximity to schools and churches because there is a church located within the Granite Street shopping center. 

 

     No one appeared in favor or in opposition.

 

Motion by Mr. Abate, Seconded by Ms. Vorenkamp, that the aforesaid Class B-Limited Beverage License be granted subject to the prior approval of proper authorities.  (Voted Unanimously)

 

Motion by Mr. Abate, Seconded by Ms. Thoman-Miller, that the Public Hearing be closed.  (Voted Unanimously)

1.      Possible Rescheduling of October 10, 2024 Licensing Board Meeting – Town Clerk LeBlanc was directed to place the aforesaid matter on the September 12, 2024 Licensing Board agenda to discuss and consider rescheduling the October 10, 2024 Licensing Board meeting to October 17, 2024.
