        Present:   William Nardone, Esq., representing applicant

                        Aaron Laippy, representing River Bar LLC

 

     Attorney Nardone stated that the applicants owned and operated several restaurants in Mystic, Connecticut, currently operate Nanna’s in Westerly, and offer bread and bakery products to a number of restaurants in the area through their bakery operation.  He stated that the restaurant will undergo minor interior renovations.

 

     Mr. Laippy stated that the operation will consist of lunch and dinner, seven days a week, as well as brunch on Sundays, with a closing time between 10:00 p.m. and midnight.  He stated that they hope to open in May.  Mr. Laippy stated that the inside capacity is approximately 150 people which includes the second floor private dining room that has a capacity of 34.  He stated no entertainment is planned at this time.

b.     Flea Market – NEW Video

               Present:  Autumn Leppert, Applicant

 

     Ms. Leppert stated that the market would be located in the area that once housed Bayview Fun Park, noting that the original parking area will remain the same.  She stated that the plan is to include a diversity of vendors and that it is important to bring in vendors who value collaborative exchange, community, sustainability, eco friendliness and holistic wellness.  She stated that the thought is local businesses could also participate as a second location.  She explained that the plan is to operate every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with core hours from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and will consider an additional day during the week.  She explained that vendors can operate under one of three tiers--daily, monthly, or annually.  She stated that the parking lot has 108 parking spaces; that vendors will get a free parking space; that patrons of the market will pay to park; and that the parking lot will be used for beach operations.

 

Motion by Ms. Thoman-Miller, Seconded by Ms. Vorenkamp, that the aforesaid license be granted subject to the prior approval of proper authorities.  (Voted Unanimously)
